About Kicking It

Kyle Gibson: Self titles as “Soccertes”

I’m hopelessly in love with the game of soccer and have been since I was 8 years old. This blog strives to provide strong analysis on professional soccer, as well as plenty of news coverage. While I try to cover as many teams as I can, I put an emphasis on analysis of the US Men’s National Team and US Women’s National Team (which I’m trying to really work on). I also love the English Premier League and attempt to provide plenty of Premier League news and analysis throughout the season, as well as off-season EPL transfer talk. My favorite team is Manchester United, which I try to write about once a week in my “Manchester Musings” blog. I feel that I can provide a pretty strong viewpoint on Manchester United, because I’ve been a fan since 2002. Last but not least, I love writing and analyzing the MLS. Major League Soccer has grown so much through the years, with so many world-class talents playing in MLS, or as I call it, the “American Premier League.” I hope there is something for everyone on this blog. Please feel free to comment. You can also find a link to my podcast, Kicking It with Kyle Gibson, which is available for free on iTunes.

About Kyle

I am a graduate of Marshall University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.

While I was an undergrad student at Marshall University, I hosted a show entitled ‘Kicking It with Kyle Gibson’ on three radio stations, Marshall’s own 88.1 WMUL, 90.7 WFGH in Fort Gay, WV and 106.7 WVKM in Matewan, WV. I also recently served as play by play commentator for Marshall’s men’s and women’s soccer teams. I’m heavily interested in a career as a soccer broadcaster or writer. I hope you enjoy the posts and feel free to comment or e-mail.
