I think I might be physically sick if Manchester United fails to sign a striker by the end of the summer transfer window. The need is evident and Wayne Rooney hasn’t scored in close to 900 minutes.
With no superstars like Karim Benzama or Edinson Cavani moving, I think United should cast its eyes to a player in the EPL.
I can even name the player they should go for. Saido Berahino.
The West Bromich Albion striker is well on his way out in the midlands, because his relationship with manager Tony Pulis eroding more by the day.
Rumors all summer have suggested he is going to Tottenham, but here’s the thing: Spurs have had two bids rejected by West Brom.
The latest bid was said to be around 22 million pounds. Tottenham has that money, but United certainly does too. I think United could swoop in now and make a bid of 30 million and walk away with a proven EPL goal scorer.
At 22, Berahino already has an impressive 19 league goals with West Brom. He’s also scored 10 in the England U-21 setup.
Maybe United just don’t rate this guy at all, but a deal for a striker MUST be made before the window slams shut.
Why not go with a young star that can potentially spend a decade at the club, just like Rooney did?
