Why You Should Watch the FA Cup

By, Kyle Gibson

Sadly, today is not a Premier League match day. However, it’s not like we don’t have soccer!

Head over to Fox Sports 1 starting at 10 a.m. for FA Cup action.

For those unfamiliar, the FA Cup is a competition for all of the professional teams in England to compete in. The winner gets to be a champion of sorts for all of England/ even Wales.

Here are three quick reasons why you should watch:

Broaden your soccer horizons
Early in the tournament, FOX will televise a few games from smaller clubs. Today’s example is Tranmere Rovers, who host Swansea. Games at small clubs and small grounds are awesome to see and it is fun to take in a new team’s atmosphere.

There is always an upset

It never fails, much like March Madness, you will always have a stunning upset in the FA Cup. Many of the teams just a step below the EPL can compete in a one-off game against the top teams. The big EPL teams also can take the foot off the pedal slightly, which always exposes you for an upset.

What else do you have going on?

Come on, it’s winter. What are you going to do, yard work? Are you going to take the tree down? Just leave the Christmas tree up a few hours longer, settle in and watch some soccer.
