After a year in which MLS offenses continued to show improvement, the league awarded an attacker Wednesday, presenting Robbie Keane with the MVP award.
Keane, 34, scored 19 regular season goals this season and also added 14 assists. He has 53 career league goals in just three full regular seasons in MLS.
This is the first MVP award for Keane, whose LA Galaxy will play in the MLS Cup Final on Sunday against the New England Revolution. The other finalists were Lee Nguyen New England and Obafemi Martins of Seattle.
According to the MLS site, this is the first time since 2009 that all three MVP candidates competed in the conference semifinals.
Personally, I was leaning towards Nguyen here, but what do you think? Give us your MVP in the comments or tweet @kickingitsoccer.
