Glory Glory Man United indeed.
We’ve known about Chevrolet’s kit sponsorship for the Manchester United shirt, said to be in the neighborhood of $70 million for just the first season, for a while.
After waiting around to finally see how the shirt jersey looked though, Chevrolet unveiled the new kit in a commercial across the USA today.
The video is very well done, incorporating the rich history of Manchester United. The video goes back to the early 20th century when the club was renamed from Newton Heath LYR FC and leads all the way to the present. Fans march towards Old Trafford, taking off previous versions of club jerseys, including the beautiful “Sharp” sponsored kit.
The ad even features Man United legends and current stars. If you haven’t seen it yet, I won’t spoil the surprise of some of the names involved.
Manchester United had what was a great jersey sponsorship with Aon, but Chevrolet’s big dollars and a refined look to the old red jersey should help to welcome in the Louis Van Gaal era with a fresh, new look.
